A Fully Circular Recycling System for Plastic Packaging.
How Wight Aluminium and GoodWrap recycle shrink wrap back into new shrink wrap.
“The big change came when we teamed up with GoodWrap. We’re now using 100% recycled wrap and recycling it back into itself. It’s true circularity in action."

CLIENT:
Wight Aluminium: Commercial window and facade solutions.
BRIEF:
Create a circular recycling system for shrink wrap used on construction deliveries.
Keeping plastic in use, not landfill
Construction packaging protects materials but often ends up in landfill. Wight Aluminium wanted a better solution.
We created a closed-loop system where shrink wrap from deliveries is collected, recycled, and remanufactured into new shrink wrap for future projects — right here in New Zealand.
The Challenge: Protecting materials without creating waste
Shrink wrap is used for protecting large window and façade panels during transport. But once removed on-site, recycling options are limited.
No simple recycling pathway
Little visibility over packaging waste
Increasing environmental expectations
Growing reputational risk
The goal was simple: keep the material in use by recycling plastic packaging back into itself, again and again.
The Solution: A completely circular system
GoodWrap designed a practical recycling system that fits into Wight Aluminium’s existing logistics and delivery process.
How it Works...
Deliveries arrive wrapped in 100% recycled shrink wrap.
Used wrap is placed into the GoodWrap recycling bags attached to every delivery.
Bags are collected on return journeys to reduce emissions.
GoodWrap sorts, bales and recycles the shrink wrap back into new shrink wrap for future projects.
Impact receipts are provided for every kilo recycled.
The Results:
Real impact for…
PLANET
Shrink wrap is recycled back into shrink wrap.
Plastic stays in circulation and out of landfill, ready for future projects.
PEOPLE
Recycling on site becomes simple and trackable.
Site teams simply fill the recycling bags provided for collection.
PROFIT
Packaging stays within ancircular system.
Reducing material loss and supporting long-term cost efficiency.

“Their system gives us full transparency.
GoodWrap’s system shows exactly how many kilos of used shrink wrap are collected, recycled, and remanufactured into new wrap. It’s real, measurable data that proves our sustainability performance.”
