Not a joke. A blueprint.
At Wellington Airport’s new fire station, GoodWrap, Pro Clima, and Naylor Love, working with their subcontractors, trialled a simple idea:
Make recycling automatic.
At some construction sites, plastic waste can be an afterthought. Release films and offcuts often end up in the skip, destined for landfill.
But at Wellington Airport’s new fire station, we’re doing things differently.
Naylor Love and their subcontractors put Pro Clima’s innovation and GoodWrap’s recycling system to the test
Together, they proved that recycling doesn’t have to be a hassle. It can be built into the process.

Once subcontractors know the process, recycling becomes second nature. Plastic backing from Pro Clima products goes straight into GoodWrap bags, already stamped and ready to go. Collections are built into the system nationwide, and every project has waste reporting. Simple, automatic, and it just works.”
Every roll of ADHERO® now comes with pre-paid GoodWrap bags. That means every installer, on every site, has a built-in way to recycle.
“Recycling used to be out of reach for our customers,” adds Simon Gibbon, General Manager at Pro Clima. “Now it’s automatic.”
For Annie, the fire station project is about more than just recycling.
“It shows that sustainability doesn’t need to be complicated. We can remove waste from the system by making better choices up front. When leaders like Pro Clima actively take responsibility for their plastic by working with GoodWrap, it shifts what’s possible for the entire industry.”
The pilot is just the beginning. With GoodWrap on track to recycle a million kilos of plastic by 2028, we’re inviting the industry of — construction and beyond — to join us.
After all, plastic waste isn’t inevitable. With the right systems and the right collaborations, we can keep plastic in play — for good
